I have been looking to leave a comment here since September 2010 (7 months ago) which is when I had the extraordinary opportunity to live here for a week…technical difficulties caused MY delay. Better late than never. Debbie Mac, I wish to say, is the quintessential hostess. Her house was my house, and my comfort was her priority. Her radical hospitality, working in tandem with the beautiful architectural vintage-feel of a Brooklyn-Bedford-Stuyvesant brownstone, set the stage for a visitation that will be remembered, always, with favor and delight. She is just as accessible as is Manhattan and all the other boroughs from this location. The warmth here disputes, with grace, the NY reputation of being cold and callous. If you are looking for a non-touristic lodging experience in NYC that will give you also a taste of a historic neighborhood like Bed-Stuy, then look no further.
I really like your writing style, good info, appreciate it for putting up :D. “The superfluous is very necessary.” by Francois Marie Arouet Voltaire
really enjoyed staying at sankofa aban bed&breakfast. the whole atmosphere… it was amazing. an authentic brownstone house in brooklyn, no better place to be: in an energetic inspiring environment (brooklyn & nyc) and still be able to come ‘home’ at night. Debbie was a source of information, warmth and friendliness for us. i would truly recommend this place to anyone who loves music, people and new inspiring places!
practical: subway station just around the corner, easy acces to manhattan and a good breakfast every morning. in the wknd the best music you can get (authentic jazz) is just downstairs!
stay there as long as you can, is what i would say…
Very interesting info !Perfect just what I was searching for!

I lived there through a month. It is a typical and very nice brownstone house in Brooklyn and let me really feel the life in NY. The most enjoyable activity may be the Jazz on every weekend. I would like to live there again if I visit NY next time.
